Facepaint

Yet another face painting, this time courtesy of Chick-fil-a Family Night. I seriously stalk this face painter...love her work although this one kind of makes Ava look evil but that is what she wanted!

Swimming

We went swimming today with the Tilsons over at their friends' pool. It was a lot of fun and we were there for like 6 hours or something.

Ava getting a ride on Darren's shoulders.

Ava & Lyndon being sweet (Ava loves all of her uncles--it is quite cute really).
And 2 dorks trying to sychronize their jumps into the pool. Let's just say at the end of the day, Darren & I decided it would be fun to be complete nerds and jump many times in the pool. Darren enjoyed splashing my mom and I enjoyed trying to time my jumps with Darren's. I love how I have a ridiculous face on in this photo...I really anticipate going into the water well before it happens as I am already holding my breath---ha! But we had fun!

Locomotion

We headed down south today to a place called Locomotion with our friends, Jen, Sienna & Trey (as usual). This place was like Hoppin House in that it had a bunch of bouncy houses but in addition to that, it also had 4 or 5 little themed rooms like a grocery store, car shop, vet clinic, dress up area etc.

Ava jumping with excitement!

Ava & Sienna dressing up and putting on a stage show.
And grocery shopping. Ava loved being the cashier and would carefully inspect everyone's items and then she would say (after pretending to take money), "Thank you, have a nice day." Apparently we shop a lot.

Friends Visit - Videos Round 2

More videos of Ava and her storytelling skills...this time with one of her favorite books "Underwear."

And the finale of storytime.

Friends Visit - Videos Round 1

Here are some videos from the weekend.

1st up: the dangerous pool slide in action

Next: Ava's storytime for Emily

Friends Visit - Sunday Funday

On the 2nd day of the Friends' visit, we played outside in the new bigger pool. Ava & Ian loved jumping up and down in it.
Emily mainly steered clear of it since Ava & Ian kept accidentally splashing her but we did get her to go down the slide once. Talk about an unsafe thing to do! Surprisingly no one ever got hurt thanks to our lifeguard (Darren clad in pajamas). By the end, the kids were sliding down unassisted and having a blast.

Ava & Ian snuggled up in her sleeping bag.

And finally Ava & Ian gave each other big hugs before saying goodbye. Ava still follows around Ian wherever he goes and does what ever he does so it is pretty amusing watching the game of "Monkey See, Monkey Do" being played.

Friends Visit - Fairy Dance

The Friends came to town today to hang out for the weekend and we had lots of fun playing with Ian, Emily, Donna & Mike. Saturday we went boating on the lake (no photos of that unfortunately) but while we were getting ready for the day Ava & Ian entertained us with a little fairy dance.

Another Edition of "What Ava Has Been Saying"

1. Thank you God for all the wonderful things. Thank you for Me-Mommy. Thank you for all the good toys. Amen. (This was before going out to eat with my mom).

2. Ava goes to bathroom. “I just toot.”
Me: “No you didn’t.”
Ava: “I’m going to do something special. Toot.”
Me: “How is that special?”
Ava: “God made my new toot.”

3. While watching The Muppet Movie. Ava: “They going to Hobby Lobby?”
Me: “No, Hollywood honey. Not Hobby Lobby.” (You can tell where we go a lot)

4. While folding Ava’s laundry A sees her dress and says “My dress! Goody goody!”

5. To Darren while reeling me in on the boat (while I’m on a float) – “Look what I caught captain!”

6. Singing “Taxi taxi riding in the back seat. Roll the window up, roll the window down. Put the money in the slot, see you later, thanks a lot. Short beep, buggy bugstown.”

Last line should be : Sure beats walking cross town which I finally figured out when I googled this. It apparently is from one of those little things they show between shows on Nick Jr. (as seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0FjggLljJk&feature=related)

7. When going to bed, Ava told Darren “I don’t like my bed. It smells like boys.”

8. Ava: “I don’t like church. It’s too churchy. " Also "I don’t like our house, it’s too housey.” Of course then she tells me another time "I love our house. It is the most beautiful house I ever saw." So you can see how hard it is to tell what a 3 year old really thinks.

9. And Ava's latest is to talk about all her "imaginary friends" coming over. She told me all about 2 in particular this week, Dell-light and Lecka. Darren found out that they are boys and that she met them at Flores.

Sprinkler Park

We went up to Cedar Park today to a great sprinkler park. It was tons of fun and they also had a huge covered sandbox that the girls just loved. Ava was the only one of her friends to really play in the sprinklers for more than 5 minutes and I, for one, was surprised. I guess the more we go to these things, the more comfortable she gets. Not to mention the fact that it is so hot!

Bunnies

I love that Ava's drawings actually now look like the thing she is drawing (most of the time).

Here are 2 different bunnies she drew on her magnadoodle thing.

Pool Playdate

Ava had some of her friends over for yet another pool playdate. This time Cypress & Sienna came and the girls had a ridiculously good time.

Photo Booth

Have I ever mentioned how much I love old photo booths? No? Well I LOVE them! Always have and always will. I fondly remember taking photos with my friends every time we headed to 59 Diner (in Houston) to eat. More recently I used my sister(Cortney)'s mac to take a series of ridiculous photos of myself and others and only wish I could find the files for them. Hilarious.

Anyways, we convinced (and by we, I mean Ava) my mom to get into a photo booth with me & Ava on 4th of July this year. They have one of the photo booths at Amy's ice cream and it is probably the best reason to go there...I mean the ice cream is good and all, but...photos are more fun!

My mom did not want to do it but I think the photos ended up being super cute! My mom, however does not like them and was not happy when I said I would be posting them here. She never likes photos of herself! Hence the reason we don't have a lot of photos of her on here ever.

3 generations of Easterwood women (and yes Gabe, Cort & I all say our girls are Easterwood girls...they are loud just like us!):

I think they are cute and love that my mom is talking in some of them...in typical mom fashion. Ha! So cute.

And because I just scanned these in, this is our family back in April at the same photo booth. For some reason the 1st & 2nd photos came out all wonky but still pretty funny especially since Ava has her face painted.
If I could own one of these booths (or rent one for a party--I know you can but I have no big parties coming up....too bad I did not get one at our wedding), I would be in heaven!!
