Pigtails

I've been rocking the baby mullet for awhile now so Mommy tried something new -- pigtails. Too bad my hair still looks the same from the front this way. Oh and I can't stand to have things in my hair so this did not last but for one minute. Would be cute though don't you think?

18 Month Stats

Went to the doctor yesterday to get my 18 month old checkup....I'm now 32 1/4" tall (60% - yeah!) and 24 lbs (45%). We also found out that I still have a slight ear infection so I am back on antibiotics. At least I am not contagious! I'm still happy but hopefully this will help get me back to normal and sleeping well...we could all use the extra sleep!

I am Godzilla

Also while in Duck, I got to participate in one of my favorite things...destruction of sand structures. Kelly and Mommy were nice enough to build me a few cities to destroy...I sometimes would even reward them for their hard work with my best Godzilla growl..too bad no one caught that on film (although you can hear all the adults try to elicit one from me).

Maybe It's Just Her

Ok, so for whatever reason Mommy finds this video funny...she's watched it like 10 times and it still makes her smile. It is not a good video. Nothing funny is happening. I repeat, it is not a good video. But for some reason it just makes her smile.

Maybe it brings back memories of me in my state of pure excitement at seeing the ocean, running like crazy to get to it as fast as I can. Maybe it's something else. Either way, I just don't get it.

WARNING: If you get motion sickness at all do NOT watch this video. Me running + wind blowing + Mommy moving + Mommy's shaky hand (you know what I am talking about) = I may need to throw up.

In the Water

My typical response to the waves crashing ashore....squeals of delight!!

We're Back!!

Ok, so technically we have been back from Duck, NC for awhile but since our whole family has been suffering from "the funk" we've been a little slow in updating the blog.

So we had a lot of fun on our little trip a few weeks ago...got to see Aunt Cortney & Uncle Jack, meet Daddy's friends John and Kelly and hang out with G-Mommy, Aunt Gabe, Sawyer and Lexie. And oh yeah...WE GOT TO GO TO THE BEACH!!!

Despite the fact that I was very sick for most of the trip (we had to stop at a random doctor the first day to get me checked out - won't bore you with the details), I was quite the trooper and had lots of fun on our vacation. If only I could have gotten more sleep. Oh wait, maybe that was Mommy's thought. Ha!:)

Here I am hanging with Aunt C on the beach.

I really enjoyed running around this year on the beach (last year, as you may recall, I just rolled around on a blanket). Running to and from the water was great fun and kept Daddy & Mommy on their toes!

Here's a sweet shot of me and Sawyer meeting on the beach to have a talk. Well that is what Mommy thinks we look like we are getting ready to do...serious business.
And here I am on Sunday at the hotel...all crashed out on the bed. Did I mention we got delayed in NC due to Ike? We weren't able to fly home so we stayed in Norfolk, VA for the night...think we were all really exhausted by this point. Not that we didn't have fun (we did!)...we were just tired, sick and tired of being sick!

Picture Time

This is what happens when you leave Mommy alone with 3 children (ok one is napping)...she takes silly self portraits. Apparently, Mommy likes to be the center of attention as witnessed in this photo.

And here you can see that Sawyer's patience is wearing thin (keep in mind this is like photo number 10 out of like 20).

First Day of School

Today was my first day of preschool (well really a Mother's Day out program 2x a week). Here I am posing on the bench outside of school before we went in...Mommy & Daddy could not get me to smile as there was too much going on for me to focus.

Here I am clinging to Daddy's leg in my classroom...I was a bit timid at first and was not sure what to make of everything but shortly thereafter I started playing with all the toys and Mommy & Daddy were able to go without me getting upset.

Here is how they found me at pickup...blowing bubbles with all the other kids. And somehow I had a boy's orange pacifier in my mouth and a boy had my pink pacifier in his mouth (he's not pictured). I had a good time but Miss Pat and Miss Delia (my teachers) said that I got a bit cranky when I was hungry and that I got tired and laid down (but did not sleep) during the day. What can I say? All the playing and other kids wore me out!!! Needless to say I am still playing catch up on sleep.
