Yep, More of What Ava Has Been Saying

1. Ava one day while we are all hanging out: "My husband pooped on the floor. I got mad." Ok, Darren & I laughed really hard at this one. Usually she says stuff that she has overheard, or from TV or something but we have no idea where she got this from. All we can guess is that the pooping on the floor came about because Zaphod (our cat) pooped on the floor when he was staying inside during the freezing weather (I'm sure we talked about it). I think maybe before she said this, I said something about Darren being my husband. But seriously it came out of her mouth and I about died!

2. Ava comes and wakes me up in the morning by climbing in bed with me. This particular morning, she hops in, looks at me and says "Mommy, don't put makeup on because I like the way you look." Then she strokes my cheek. Seriously so sweet!

3. Ava has been on a bristle block kick and was making mini towers the other day. Then she brings one to me and tells me it's a trophy for "sewing good." She gives one to Darren for "working good."

4. Ava in the car, "I want to go to Granny & Pop's house for 100 weeks. 100 weeks!" (Everything has been about 100 lately.) Me: "That's over 2 years Ava." Ava: "Can we stay for 4 years?" Yeah watch out Rudy & Jeanie...we're coming to stay with you until Ava is 8. Ha!

5. Ava & her friend Sydnee are sitting at her little table drinking lemonades. Syd:"What are you smiling about Ava?" Ava: "You coming over to my house. What are you smiling about?" Syd: "Me coming over to your house." Too cute! I love listening to what Ava & her friends say to each other when they have their playdates...you never know what they will talk about.

iPhone Photo Time

Ok so I have kind of slacked on taking photos of Ava lately especially with my big SLR camera but I have managed to snap some photos with my iPhone. And using my 2 favorite apps (Instagram & Hipstamatic), these photos actually are pretty cool for what they are.
Ava with Smokey...she sat next to him and told me to take a photo of them. She actually loves having her photo taken these days.
Ava on Valentine's Day with the teddy bear that Darren ordered and had delivered to her. I got a bunch of tulips and rather than complain that he did something for me on Valentine's day (which I don't really believe in ), I was excited to receive such an unexpected and nice surprise. And Ava of course was thrilled.
Ava on the swing at the neighborhood park. The weather has been so nice that I have taken her down there even when I am a bit tired and not wanting to move off the couch. How can you not when it's in the 70s?

Me, lounging on the slide at the neighborhood park, watching Ava swing. Yes, this is what a pregnant person does when tired at the park. Thankfully our neighborhood park is usually pretty empty.

Darren & Ava at Chuy's for lunch. I told you she loves to take photos. They were sitting there and she asked me to take a photo of her & her Daddy.

32 Weeks

Ok, so here is my 32 weeks photo from this pregnancy...see the difference from the last post? Not so bad really. I can't imagine puffing up that bad in 2 weeks but I guess you never know.
I really was not going to take too many more prego photos of myself but could not pass up the opportunity yesterday since I was wearing this non-maternity dress my mom got me from Italy last year and it made me look really "large and in charge" as Darren would say. Ha! Although we both think the photo somehow makes me look smaller than in real life...if you can imagine.
I swear head on, I looked fairly normal and then WA-BAM! I turn to the side and it's like my belly has it's own zip code...it's just WAY out there!
7 more weeks people..tired of me counting down? Better get used to it!!

Nursery/Guest Room

If you read my project blog too (http://www.mokru.blogspot.com/), I am going to apologize for reposting this here...just thought it would be nice to have stuff about the baby and his room on our personal blog too.  I've seriously been in nesting mode and if you don't believe me, you'll see that not only have I done the below projects but a few others as well (http://mokru.blogspot.com/2011/02/for-my-boy.html).  And I still have a few more things planned for baby boy as well as myself. We'll see what I actually get done!

Finally kind of got our nursery/guest room together. Yes, we are not getting rid of our guest room which really only is used for 1 set of guests - my hubby's parents. Baby boy does not need his own room for awhile as he can easily stay in our room when necessary.
It's not completely done (still one naked wall and a pink pillow that needs to be recovered) but it looks so much better. I really stink at before photos...I would blame it on the pregnancy but I know that is not why I don't take them. I just forget and get excited and jump right in without thinking about the fact that people like before/after photos. I know I do.

Anyways, here is the crib shot with the letter paintings I made (all paintings in this room were previous paintings I had done - after them hanging in our house for 5+ years, it was time for a change so I did not mind painting over them).

Bedding is Dwellstudio for Target (I love DS stuff..too cute) and crib is our old one we used for Ava 4 yrs ago.

Close up (or closer) of the paintings before they were hung. I did each letter in a different font using the colors in the baby bedding. Although the pictures make it hard to see, each one is distressed a bit and has cracks/stain on it. I covered each canvas in newspaper strips and mod podge, then painted, sanded, applied crackle paint, and applied stain for the look. I kind of like that they are not perfect. The photos really don't do these justice.

Shot of the guest bed and new curtains (darn wrinkles won't come out...anyone know how to get wrinkles out of twill/acrylic backed curtains? can't wash them and the iron did nothing). The painting above the bed used to be of 2 girls dancing on a red background but I whipped out a quick color block painting to tie the bedding colors of the guest bed to the new baby bedding.

Close up of painting. Seriously this thing took like 30 minutes for me to make and I actually really like how it turned out.

And a shot of the room looking from guest bed out. This painting was inspired by one I saw on the blog How About Orange. She had painted this for her living room (in different colors and in a more professional way) and I thought it was so cool that I made my own version. Again I distressed it a bit so the colors would be a bit more muted and match better with everything in the room.

Other than these changes, we just bought a cubicle system for inside the closet (you know the kind with canvas bins...we got ours in light green, khaki and chocolate) and put some baskets on the shelves in there to hold all the baby essentials (diapers, wipes, blankets & burp cloths).

Well I Want to Update the Blog...

...but our computer has been acting up.  Our USB drives are not working so I can't actually upload any new photos...rather frustrating!  We got it fixed yesterday and of course I slacked and did not get the photos off my camera then and guess what?  Now the USB drives are not functioning and our webcam is down too...no Skype calls for us. :(

Anyways, I will update this as soon as fixed.  Not too much going on here...some projects were completed for the baby/guest room that I was going to show you, and we got down a lot of baby gear (bassinet, bouncy chair, etc.) which Ava has been using for her dolls.  I've already told her she can do that now but once baby brother gets here, she will not be able to use them...makes me see doll versions of these things in our future....like we need more baby stuff in our house than what is already here.

I'm getting more and more uncomfortable each day in my body (what else is new?) but the good news is that I am 7.5 weeks from my c-section date.  I am officially counting down the days!

So if you want to see some photos, here are a few from when I was pregnant with Ava 4 years ago...I will warn you that I was way swollen in these pics (they are from week 34 or 36 which is about 2 weeks from where I am now this time...hopefully I will not swell up like this again - I am nowhere near looking like this as of now) and the feet picture very well may make you lose your lunch. So be warned!!! Really those are not my feet...they belong to an elephant. If my feet end up looking like that this time, I will cry. Cankles, elephant feet and swollen faces make Megan a very unhappy girl so for everyone's sake, I hope this does not happen to me again.

Man I look excited in this picture...

See, not my feet.  Wish I had a normal picture to show you how gross these puffy things really are...well actually you can see that!!
