Memorial Day Weekend

We spent the long weekend once again down in Conroe. 

We did a little of this

 A little of that

A little more of that

 And some of this

Ava also had fun playing in the rainbows that G&P's windows make. I think she spent a good 30 minutes rolling around to see where they would land on her body. (Excuse the phone photos but my camera battery died!)

And one of my favorite parts of the weekend was this.  Years ago, Pops starting playing ball with Ava this way and she thought that when he said "Foul Ball" he wa saying "Cow Ball."  So we still call it that.  I think some of the adults (ahem Pops & Darren) were having a little too much fun.  Granny was giggling too but I am not sure if she enjoyed the boys throwing the ball at her everytime.  I love that Ava laughs at them the whole time too.

G&P came in town for Ava's recital and also to play with the kiddos.

 Then Granny, Pops & Ava played some kind of ball toss game where you tried to get the ball into the floaties.

 And then, Ava snuggled up with G&P to read the newspaper.  Seeing her family just really makes her happy!  Thanks G&P for coming to the recital!!

Dance!

Ava's dance recital was this weekend.  It's her second one and this time around they had to perform 2 times in the one day.  Kind of long day for small kids but she did really well and was definitely very energetic at the show.

 And this photo totally reminds me of a Glamour shot ...they always make kids seem older in those and Ava definitely looks older and a bit like someone from Toddlers & Tiaras -- I don't watch that show but I know what's it about).  Darren said the girls had to come up with their own individual poses so I find it funny that Ava did this.

Last Week of School

This is the last week of preschool for Ava...ever.  After 4 years, she will be leaving the school for kindergarten next Fall.  I knew I would be sad about it but had no clue that it would affect Ava so much.    All week, she kept getting sad and telling me that she did not want to leave preschool.  She even got teary a few times.

On Tuesday, the class had a pizza party.  We tried to get a complete class photo since they official one was missing 4 of the girls and Ms. Mary.

 As usual, we took our end of year photo to include in the teacher gift.  Ava decided to wear one of the outfits I made her.

 On Thursday evening, they held the Sending Forth program.  The kids each had their name called to recognize that they were "graduating" and then all the classes sang some cute songs.  I'll have to upload Ava singing some of the songs from my phone (although not from the actual program since it is hard to ever get a good video there).

 Ryan surprisingly, sat in our laps for the entire hour and a half!  That just does not happen in this wiggly guy's world.

When it was time to leave, the girls all gave Ms. Mary a hug.  She told me later that in the middle of the program, Ava looked at her with tears in her eyes and said 'Ms. Mary, I don't want to leave preschool ever!"  She really is going to miss Ms. Mary, Ms. Lori and a lot of her friends. This was such a great year at preschool.

I'm Still No Good

I still cannot manage to stay on top of the blog.  But again I have updated it.  Newest post is back on Easter which is April 8th...think there are 4 from that day and then a few posts more recent than that.
