Banana Dance

Ava has really gotten into watching old cartoons like Looney Toons and Tom & Jerry lately.  Only problem is that they air on Boomerang and have commercials.  One of these commercials is for a cartoon that is probably a little inapporpriate and airs on Cartoon Network. It features a Banana named Joe doing a silly dance which Ava finds hysterical. She gets up and does the dance everytime she sees it.  It's pretty funny.

Happy Valentine's Day!

10 Months

Here is Ryan at 10 months...he's getting so big!  Still happy, still waiting on teeth, still pretty much the same as last month.  He has been standing unassisted for periods of time so that is new.  But no walking or anything. 

Btw, I have been trying to practice using my Photoshop for various things...here I used layer  masks to make Ryan in color and the background in b&w.  I'm teaching myself how to use it via Youtube.  Ha! 

I love this one...he cracks me up with his little tongue.

 And finally, we have started letting the kids takes baths together.  Ava was going through a shower stage  and to be honest we probably were not showering/bathing Ava & Ryan as much as we should be. So now that they get in together, it is easy.  It also is something fun for them to do.  Ava gets a kick out of having Ryan in the bath and Ryan just loves taking baths.  He loves to splash! Ava spends a good deal of time just giggling in there with him.  Very cute to see.

Oh and don't ask me what Ava is doing here...putting on a bubble bathing suit top?  Anyways it was the best shot of the two of them in there.

Grocery Shopping

Had to include this photo on the blog...We went to HEB and Ava was (obviously) ridiculously excited that both she & Ryan could sit in the cart together.  Ryan, of course, could care less.

For some reason, this was the first time I had tried this.  Partly, because I usually don't take 2 kids to the store with me and i guess partly because I thought Ava was getting too big to fit in the front of the cart.

At Pablo's

We finally headed down again to go see my dad for the weekend.  The kids had a lot of fun hanging out at Pablo's house since there is so much space. We all ended up playing with a rolling catepillar toy that would zoom way across the floor -- Ryan had a blast crawling as fast as he could to catch it.

 He also had a lot of fun crawling between Darren's legs while the game was going on.  It was kind of funny to see him wiggle his way under there and turn around.   Maybe a bit awkward for Darren though.

 Ava once again got to go bowling with Pablo and also got to paint.  She had a good time painting over her canvas from last time with him. 

 She asked me before we headed down there whether she could paint again and I told her we probably could.  She also asked if she could paint naked again...I told her that this time we would bring a white shirt for her to get messy.  Her outfit is a vast improvement over naked painting but she is still her undies.  Oh well...love the addition of her socks.  She had a lot of fun picking out the colors by herself.

Late Saturday afternoon, Rosemary, Chris & little Ashlen stopped by for a bit. It was great to catch up since we had not seen them in so long.  Ashlen is walking (she's only 3 months older than Ryan but seem so much older as a result).  She is such a cutie!

 Ava, of course, was very enamored of Ashlen.  I think she wanted her to be her very own little doll.  I had to remind her a few times that she is a person and not, in fact, a doll.  She has since mentioned "baby Ashlen" about a hundred times to me. Whether it is to tell me how cute she is or something else she did when we saw her.  I think she would love to play with her again.

We also met up with my friend Michelle & her kiddos on Sunday but sadly I did not get any photos.  Once I sync up my phone I might post a few more photos I took on there from this weekend.  Some from dinner and the bowling alley.  It was great to see everybody and I only wish there was more time to see everyone more!
